What is My Child Learning?
In Elementary school children often learn about various cultures, both present and historic. Part of this study includes exploring the holidays and ceremonies that have been traditionally celebrated around the world and continue to be celebrated today. As children imagine their unique holidays, they may draw inspiration from various cultural practices they have encountered through their studies at school. This activity encourages children to think critically about customs they are familiar with and sparks curiosity about the customs of others. By discussing and sharing their holiday ideas, children are also developing their communication skills and learning to respect and appreciate the diverse perspectives and traditions of their peers.
