Dancing Panda Fun for All Ages: Family Rules
Activity
Hiya Panda Pal! Today we are doing a social studies activity called “Family Rules.”
Grownups often create rules for their families and their homes. They exist to make things more fair and to keep everyone safe. In this activity, you will talk about the rules in your family.
Instructions: Ask your child the following questions:
What are some rules in our family?
Note: you might want to begin by reminding your child of one rule in your family, such as no food in the bedrooms, and then asking them to list more.
How does this rule help our family?
Now pretend you are the grown-up. What rules would you make for our family? How would those rules help our family run better?
Quick Tip: If your child needs prompting, you may want to list some common family rules for them. Here are two examples:
Clean your room once a week.
Ask to be excused from the table after you finish eating.
