What is my child learning?
In elementary school children begin to learn how to question assumptions using the scientific method. This skill prompts children to analyze facts and data and make informed conclusions. Understanding detailed differences also helps to develop children’s communication skills as they are prompted to share what they have learned and explain their conclusions in an effective manner. This question helps children think critically about differences, and specifically aids their development of analyzing details. Horns and antlers are similar, but the questions prompts critical thinking by asking are they the same. To determine if they are the same or similar children must consider what differences there may be between antlers and horns and make an informed conclusion. This question may lead to other questions! Have fun with your child and aid their critical thinking development through a fun debate.
