Uncommon Instrument Day!

On July 31st, we celebrate Uncommon Instrument Day. This special day is all about exploring unique and unusual musical instruments that you may not hear or see every day. From the theremin to the kazoo, there are so many fascinating instruments  to discover. Today, take some time to learn about and listen to some uncommon instruments. Who knows, you might find a new favorite!

What is my child learning?

In elementary school, children learn about the world of music and its many elements. They are often introduced to various common instruments and their sounds, rhythms, and melodies. By exploring uncommon instruments, children expand their knowledge and appreciation for the diversity of musical expression. They learn to listen attentively and develop an ear for different sounds. This activity encourages curiosity, creativity, and a sense of exploration, fostering a love for music and broadening their understanding of the musical world.
