The answer is…

True! We already know that LOTS of animals eat plants, but there are SOME plants that eat animals, too. Most plants create their own food through a process called photosynthesis, but some plants are carnivores. Plants like the venus fly trap and the pitcher plant trap and eat small bugs to keep them alive.

What is my child learning?

Learning Connection: In science, students spend time studying living and non-living things. They learn what plants and animals need to survive. This includes understanding how plants reproduce. While most of this study revolves around photosynthesis I.e. the process by which plants use sunilght to process food from carbon dioxide and water. This activity exposes students to another way some plants get food and survive.
